Miss8 is home sick today, so just grabbing a few moments to try and catch up on some stuff while I can :)
Here's my YOJ for September - the image is glued to a glass dome and then peyoted around. The "strap" is also peyoted, trapping Swarovski pearls. The purple teardrops are Cubic Zirconia's.
I love the Victorian look of this :) Hope everyone is going well with their YOJ's too - can't wait to see them!

That's absolbloominwonderful Amanda! Are the little girls anyone you know or just a pic you had? Beautiful. I'm still plodding on mine and was about to give up on it, it's a wee bit similar to what you've done, very very wee! So perhaps I'll keep going, so much going on around here at the mo, with guys putting in the double glazing and then some visitors! I feel a bit frazzled and need my quiet beading time back. Ho hum!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jen :) The pic was just a rub-on I found in my stash, so I rubbed it onto the glass dome then sealed it. The pic just appealed - such cute wee girls :) Can't wait to see yours - hope you get your beading time to finish it!!
ReplyDeleteDon't think I know what a rub-on pic is! Perhaps you could enlighted me one day???! Coz it sure looks good. Double glazing blokes all done now, and that sure looks and feels good. I've had a big clean and tidy so that feels good, except for my back (of course!). Bloody typical. Anyway time to relax and bead, redoing my YOJ, still keeping the same idea but have to alter the size..... interesting isn't it!
ReplyDeleteJen, a rub-on is a scrapbooking thing - you can get them in all sorts of designs, lettering etc. You lay it over a surface and rub it on using a stick and the image transfers to your surface. Very easy, and there are some beautiful designs around - the Warehouse even have them now! Good luck with your YOJ, can't wait to see it :)
ReplyDeleteOoooow thanks for that, I like looking around for scrapbooking stuff now, will keep an eye out for some of those. Well I've done the main part of my YOJ, now it's just some thinking of what to put it onto, hmmmm..... Might have to have a wee shop around at Beadaholic. Been a great day for beading, rained all day! Love it.
